Happy Monday everyone! Every single Sunday I think to myself “where did the weekend go?!” I honestly don’t know how 2 days can go by in a flash *sigh* Our weekend was a very relaxing one, we didn’t do much because we were home with our sick puppy. I actually left work early on Friday because our vet requested that we bring him in immediately, he had been experiencing some dry heaving/breathing issues 2 nights in a row and we didn’t want to take our chances by waiting to get him seen. Thankfully, the doctor didn’t find anything seriously wrong with him. Just to be safe, we decided to play it cool and just spend some quality time together!
On Sunday we decided to venture out of the house and up to Carlsbad. For a few months of the year Carlsbad has their famous Flower Fields open to the public. The fields offer miles of flowers, in full bloom! The flowers were absolutely gorgeous, the colors were so vibrant! Unfortunately, they didn’t allow the guests to walk through the fields, they only had a handful of designated spots where you were allowed to walk, mainly used for photo ops. However, that didn’t stop us from snapping a few photos!
You couldn’t help but take pictures, the fields were unlike anything I’ve ever seen! So elegant, exceptionally beautiful. It reminded me of the flower fields you see throughout Italy or other parts of Europe. I was so tempted to just snatch up a few flowers and take them home 😀 Don’t worry, I didn’t!
I just recently purchased this maxi dress and felt it was perfect to wear to the Flower Fields! I absolutely love the pale blue color, it’s such a lovely color on any skin tone and it’s great for a subtle Spring look. The cold shoulder sleeve is such a great touch, we all know how popular the cold shoulder has been! The dress resembles a wrap from the front, giving it a slight v-neck and then cinched nicely around the waist.
I also loved the back on this dress. There was a tie that went right across the back, close to the shoulder blades. So many small details that made this a must have!
What was even better about this dress is the price! I got this maxi for only $19.99! Yep, that’s right. I snagged this dress from my local Marshalls, one of my all-time favorite stores for some great bargains. I’m pretty positive that they still have this dress there and several other options, perfect for Easter this weekend!
I don’t have a ton of maxi-dresses, I get a bit picky when it comes to floor length dresses because I’m a bit tall so the maxi dresses I usually come across aren’t the right length for me. However, this dress was perfect! I did wear sandals with them and I feel like they coordinated well, anything else would’ve been a bit too dressy for the look I was going for.
Overall, I had a great time browsing through the fields and enjoying the beautiful Sunday we had in San Diego. For all those local to San Diego, I highly recommend you to make a trip to the Flower Fields while they’re still open. You won’t regret it!0
